The biggest barrier to treatment is often finding a provider properly trained and knowledgeable in the areas that are most important to you. You may have gone years searching, or working with multiple different providers only to be left frustrated and sometimes worse off than when you started therapy.
NH ME FL

From the first appointment with me, you will gain a sense of hope and relief that the anxiety, fear, insecurity, and overwhelm you’ve been struggling with really can be managed! Let’s get you living toward your values instead of fear.
What is Teletherapy?

This means my services are offered STATEWIDE in New Hampshire, Maine, and Florida!
Teletherapy, or online therapy, helps you receive the similar results as traditional in person therapy while also saving you time, money, and energy. No awkward waiting rooms, no commuting in traffic, and no building barriers for those who may have physical limitations. Teletherapy can be more accessible, because unlike in-office therapy, you’re not limited to a specific building or location.

Benefits of self-pay vs. insurance

While a diagnosis for some can be beneficial, for others it could compromise one’s ability to obtain life, health, or disability insurance.
In addition to using your HSA/FSA account for payment, another option to make self-pay more doable is Out-Of-Network (OON) reimbursement.
-
A Superbill is a receipt that contains my business and tax information, as well as your session and billing information.
-
If yours does, you may submit this Superbill to your insurance to see if OON reimbursement is a possibility.

No Surprises Act, 2022
“Good Faith Estimate for Health Care Items and Services” Under the No Surprises Act (For use by health care providers no later than January 1, 2022) Instructions Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act -
Requires health care providers and health care facilities to provide a good faith estimate of expected charges for items and services to individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services.
This form may be used by the health care providers to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program (uninsured individuals), or individuals who are enrolled but not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage (self-pay individuals) of the expected charges they may be billed for receiving certain health care items and services.
Disclaimer
The Good Faith Estimate shows the cost of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs for an item or service. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur. If this happens, federal law allows you to dispute (appeal) the bill.
You may contact the health care provider or facility listed to let them know the billed charges are higher than the Good Faith Estimate, ask to negotiate the bill, or ask if there is financial assistance available.
You may also start a dispute resolution process with the U.S> Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within the 120 calendar days (about 4 months) of the date on the original bill. There is a $25 fee to use the dispute process. If the agency reviewing your dispute agrees with you, you will have to pay the price on this Good Faith Estimate. If the agency disagrees with you and agrees with the health care provider or facility, you will have to pay the higher amount.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or the dispute process, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises/consumers or call 1-800-985-3059. Keep a copy of this Good Faith Estimate in a safe place or take pictures of it. You may need it if you are billed a higher amount.
Superbills & OON Reimbursement
-
When going through insurance, your choices and treatment options may be limited as insurance determines for us what is considered “medically necessary” and could deny a certain diagnosis, number and length of sessions, and treatments.
-
Due to insurance guidelines, limitations are often placed on your therapy process including, but not limited to, how many total sessions you receive, how many sessions per week, or even how long of a session you may have. This does not always align with your treatment recommendations and could inhibit your progress.
-
If yours does, you may submit this Superbill to your insurance to see if OON reimbursement is a possibility.
-
When using insurance, your information (diagnosis, nature of issues seeking counseling, treatment goals, how long the issue has persisted) is all shared with your insurance, anyone involved in the processing and handling of the claims, and future employers.
-
I may not be paneled with your particular insurance, however, it will be more beneficial to your mental health to receive short-term treatment and pay out-of-pocket, than to use insurance, long-term, with a provider that is not trained in your particular concern.
NOTE: Not every insurance plan has OON benefits. Please verify with your insurance as I cannot guarantee reimbursement.
NOTE: Your Superbill will contain a diagnosis. If you are requesting self-pay in order to avoid a diagnosis on your record, then you may not want to request a Superbill.
